What is the STD Panel?

This panel tests for the most common STDs found in men and women. Many of these are the same infections healthcare providers routinely test for.

Which tests are included in this panel?

HPV High-Risk Virus

Herpes Virus I & II

Genital Wart Viruses

Why choose a full panel?

Many STDs have overlapping symptoms and risk factors, making it difficult to know which to test for. It’s also quite common for someone to have multiple STDs at the same time. If you’re unsure which infection you may have, a panel can give you broader results more easily and cost effectively.

Obtaining the results of a full panel of tests will provide you and your partner with the peace of mind needed for your intimate health. You don’t know unless you test, and only you will know.

What will appear on my credit card?

The name “PLR” will appear next to the charges on your credit card statement.

How long before my results are ready?

Normal turnaround time is 4 business days after the lab receives your sample.

What if I lose my PIN?

The system does not store any data beyond your birth date. Therefore, if you forget your PIN, there is no way for us to retrieve or reset it. You will need to order your test kit again.

I have some other questions I’m following up with Jennifer on and may have some more to add.

What is HPV High-Risk Virus?

Most sexually active adults will have an HPV infection at some point in their lives. There are no symptoms of High Risk HPV, but it is the cause of different types of cancer including: cervical, anal and forms of oral cancer.  And while HPV-related penile cancer is rare, carrying the virus means you are potentially passing it along to sexual partners. Early detection of this virus is potentially lifesaving for you and your partner.

What are Chlamydia/Gonorrhea?

These are two of the most common STDs and often show no signs or symptoms. If left untreated, they can cause inflammation of the urethra or prostate or lead to infertility. Any male who is sexually active with new or multiple partners should routinely test for chlamydia and gonorrhea.

What is the Herpes Virus?

Oral herpes (HSV-1) and genital herpes (HSV-2) are both very common. Many people don’t realize they have one or both types, transmitting the virus to their partner without realizing it.

How long are my test results available?

If you create an account, they are available indefinitely.  If you choose to remain anonymous, they are only available for 60 days after posting.

What happens if I lose my order number?

It depends on the type of account you set up.  If you choose to remain anonymous there will be no way to retrieve your number and you will have to order the kit and test again.  If you set up an account you will be able to login and see your order number(s).
